Mixed Media Monday

Hi Friends!
I have been at it again. Love watching Mixed Media Monday with Tracy so here is my journal page inspired by this past Monday night.

The supplies used are older than my 9 year old son. Except the grunge letters, they are possibly 5 years old. Paper is ancient and embellishments are from the 90's. Trying to use stuff I have and boy does it feel good.

Magazine Monday Week 33

Hi Friends,
I am playing along with Paper Crafters Corner Magazine Monday again. Here is the inspiration cover. Week 33 link.

I chose to make a card this time. I used Waltzing Mouse Stamps to make my card. The stamp set seems kind of homemade to me. And I used Stampin' Up Watercolor crayons to color where needed.

I did use watercolor paper and mounted it onto a brown card. Hope you enjoy.

December 2013 Creative Dare

I have been having a blast following Tracy and learning new techniques. Especially helpful is going outside my comfort zone. Hard to do but love the results.

Here is my December 2013 Creative Dare with my 5 values.

I am not a big fan of hearts. I do like butterflies with all the flowers so here is a Marianne Creatable die cut out of a monster soda can. I used my big kick to do it. Nothing extra but the metal shim plate to help with pressure and a piece of wax paper. Easy Peasy.

Hope you all enjoy your month of December. Mine is off to a great start.

Water Color Journal Page

I have been playing along with Terri Sproul, and here is my version of the watercolor page.

And here are some close ups for the details.

Didn't have penguins the right size for this project so I opted for gingerbread men.
Look at the shimmer of that snow! I had the iridescent blue paint but hadn't used it yet. Thanks for the jump start! Love the glass beads ~ they just about glow on the page.
And this page wouldn't be complete without Santa riding off into the night.

I had crafting Tuesday at my house  and I will admit I stole the idea from my friend Cindi about the Christmas theme. And I am so glad I did! I love how my page turned out.

And here are some close ups of the individual blocks.

Thanks for stopping by!

Balloon journal page

This my Mixed Media Monday journal page   Thanks so much http://www.tracywburgos.typepad.com/ for great inspiration.

Stencil Journal Page

Once again I was fascinated with what Terri Sproul did on Tuesday night. Here is the art journal page I did for that challenge. I am thankful for time. Seems crazy I know but that is what I truly treasure every day.

I used many stencils with distressed inks, dylusions, paint and a stamp from a company long gone (Arizona Stamps, Too!). And I used my homemade stencil paste with the clock face stencil. So cool. Got the recipe for the paste here.

November gratitude challenge

Here is my November Gratitude challenge page for Tracy Weinzapfel studios.  I had more fun than I realized I would doing this page. Hope you enjoy.

Here is the palette I chose from The Perfect Palette. It is the warm palette and i added the green since it is in there too. It is a lovely website for color combo ideas.

Terri Sproul oil vs water

This is my attempt at Terri Sprouls' challenge this week. Love watching the Tuesday night video's. Terris' blog
This is the whole two page spread and then each page. I used real leaves from my yard before they all blew away. Mine is called Winds of Change. I used a wax crayon for the wind and dylusions for wind. Border stamp is Dyan Reaveley stamps and birds in nest/tree is Outlines.

I am an Artist

I watched the upstream video from this blog mixed media Monday and was inspired to make this art. Good thing art is so subjective. I used jenni bowlin dauber inks and water. Some gelatos for more intense colors and a sharpie. Some acrylic paint and bubble wrap.

Magazine Monday 29

This is my first attempt at an art journal and at the magazine Monday challenge. I used delusions spray inks and some butterfly stencils. There is mulberry paper over the left butterfly. And the circles are homemade modeling paste on a leftover paper tube. Various stamps used on the bottom and paper trey ink die clouds. Hope you enjoy.

Bird Canvas

Last mixed media canvas for today. This one is for the teachers aide. Pictures don't do these any justice but it's the best I can do.

Purple Dress

This is another mixed media canvas for the first grade special eduction teacher in AGCS. Matt adores her and she loves purple.

R Canvas

Here is a mixed media canvas I did for one of Matthews' teachers. She got married in October of 2012 so I wanted to highlight that part of her life.
